Distinguished pianist and teacher, Kenneth Weir, is widely acknowledged as an artist of individual perception and taste.   His musicianship reflects a unique background of performance, scholarship, and cultural diversity.

Scottish-born, he has lived in New Zealand, Australia, France, Thailand, and the United States.  Having won early international recognition as a concert organist, he continued to pursue a pianistic career encouraged and enhanced by close association over the years with major artists and teachers.

At Indiana University, Bloomington, he was awarded Highest Distinction in piano (Masters degree) and completed his doctorate in organ and piano at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. A former classical Greek scholar (Otago University, New Zealand), he is at home with a number of European languages, and also Thai.  He is a respected writer and literary critic – some examples of his work are included here.
